Dr. Alessandra Manganelli

Dr. Alessandra Manganelli is an urban studies scholar with a background in urban governance and planning. Her doctoral research (KU Leuven, VUB, Belgium; Toronto Metropolitan University) has focused on the hybrid governance of urban food movements in Europe and North America. She has been a consultant for the Committee of the Regions on the European Farm to Fork Strategy (Brussels, 2019–20) and her book on urban food movements was recently published by Springer.

Within the DFG research training group, she is developing a research agenda on urban experimentation, urban environmental governance, socio-ecological transformations, and justice, conducting empirical research in European cities.
