More than traffic: Urban street experiments as arenas of negotiation

As stages for everyday routines and public life, streets are at the epicentre of urban transformations. In Germany, cities are increasingly turning streets into sites of experimentation in order to advance mobility changes aimed at reducing car traffic. Drawing on two qualitative case studies, this contribution provides insights into the multi-layered negotiation processes involved in street experiments.
