Joshua Kaewnetara is a sociologist and doctoral researcher at the DFG research training group ‘Urban future-making’. After obtaining his interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in socioeconomics, he studied labor, economics, and society (economic and sociological studies) at the University of Hamburg. In his master’s thesis, he explored the development of neighbourhoods in urban new-build districts. Throughout his studies, he has conducted research in transdisciplinary urban real-world labs investigating the sustainable transformation of everyday practices. As that project has continued, its focus has increasingly shifted to urban car-free mobility. Currently, his research interest lies in investigating how everyday mobility practices are disrupted by disasters.
