Wohnen in Hamburg: Akteure, Instrumente und Konfliktfelder

Editors: Monika Grubbauer, Joscha Metzger

In current debates about the housing crisis, Hamburg serves as important reference and is often referred to as positive example. However, rising rents and prices have resulted in a precarious housing situation for large parts of the population. The edited volume discusses the housing situation in Hamburg and gives an overview of key actors, instruments, and conflicts. The contributions examine the historical evolution of housing policies and housing supply in the city, they discuss potential solutions in the face of urgent social and ecological demands, and they analyse relevant controversies which shape housing futures in the city of Hamburg and beyond.
