The ARL is setting up a new working group on water justice and spatial planning. Against the backdrop of increasing water scarcity and growing conflicts over water resources, water-related questions are becoming an integral part of climate-resilient spatial planning in Germany. The aim of the group is to develop strategies, tools, and governance approaches for water-sensitive and climate-resilient planning. The results will be published in a practical guide and policy briefs. The group is chaired by Gala Nettelbladt (Bauhaus University Weimar), Tino Petzold (Goethe University Frankfurt), and Antje Buns (ARL) and will run from 2026 to 2028.
